The Open-Source Modular ELA Curriculum (OMEC) is a shared instructional framework that provides stable, rigorous lessons teachers can rely on, adapt, and build upon — without starting from scratch.
Designed as a plug-and-play system for grades 9–12 ELA, OMEC reduces planning burden while maintaining instructional coherence, rigor, and accessibility for all learners, especially multilingual students.
Our core principle: Language fluency doesn't dictate cognitive ability. Multilingual students engage with the same rigorous analytical thinking as their peers, supported by scaffolded language structures that make complex ideas accessible.
